STAGECRAFT

The Stagecraft class offers students hands on experience in the area of technical theater. They will explore the basics of set building, costume construction, operation of lighting and sound equipment and makeup application. In addition, they will have a chance to experiment with design: design of sets, costume, light, sound and makeup, They will then have the chance to execute their own designs.

ESCENOGRAFÍA

THEATER ARTS I

This class is an introduction to theater arts, with no previous experience necessary. Students will begin to build an acting foundation, with units on improvisation, pantomime and Greek and Medieval theater. They will then put what they have learned to use, preparing their own monologues and short scenes. Emphasis in the class is on the discipline of theater, acting and theater history. Students build confidence, presentation skills, teamwork and creative problem solving.

TEATRO ARTE I

THEATER ARTS II

TA II is a deeper exploration into acting and theater. The class begins with learning traditional Stanislavski acting technique. Students then have a chance to apply this technique to the works of William Shakespeare, both his sonnets and his plays. They will also experience Anne Bogart's Viewpoints training (a movement based technique), puppetry, clowning and physical theater. They will have the chance to apply their clowning and physical theater techniques to work with the Commedia dell'Arte of the Italian Renaissance.

TEATRO ARTE II

TA II es una exploración más profunda en la actuación y el teatro. La clase comienza con el aprendizaje tradicional técnica de actuar Stanislavski. THEATER ARTS III

The work done in this class is college level and focuses on the acting technique of Sanford Meisner. Students will make an in depth study of his sophisticated and advanced technique that will take their acting to the next level. Once they have explored the technique, the rest of the class is done workshop style, with students preparing work from contemporary and classical theater, and then presenting the work to their classmates for feedback. Eventually the work done in this class should begin to approach college/professional level.

TEATRO ARTE III

El trabajo realizado en esta clase es de nivel universitario y se centra en la técnica en funciones de Sanford Meisner. Los estudiantes harán un estudio en profundidad de su técnica sofisticada y avanzada que se llevará a su actuación al siguiente nivel.
