The English Theater Collective declares itself to be an anti-racist organization.

This means that it is not enough to say that we don't tolerate racism but that we have a plan to actively work against racism. Here are a set of action steps that we will be taking to ensure that we are actively fighting against racism:

  • We make a pledge that the membership of our club will reflect the ethnic demographic makeup of the school starting in the fall of 2021

  • We will provide all our promotional materials in English and Spanish

  • We will present material that either addresses BIPOC (black, indigenous and people of color) issues or was created by BIPOC artists

  • As individual members and as a group we will speak out when we see incidents of racism, either within our own group, at our school or in our community

There is a change happening in our nation, and we plan to be at the forefront of that change!

El English Theatre Collective se declara una organización antirracista.

Esto significa que no es suficiente decir que no toleramos el racismo, sino que tenemos un plan para trabajar activamente contra el racismo. Aquí hay una serie de pasos de acción que tomaremos para asegurarnos de que estamos luchando activamente contra el racismo:

  • Nos comprometemos a que la membresía de nuestro club refleje la composición demográfica étnica de la escuela a partir del otoño de 2021.

  • Proporcionaremos todos nuestros materiales promocionales en inglés y español.

  • Presentaremos material que aborde temas de BIPOC (negros, indígenas y personas de color) o que fue creado por artistas de BIPOC.

  • Como miembros individuales y como grupo, hablaremos cuando veamos incidentes de racismo, ya sea dentro de nuestro propio grupo, en nuestra escuela o en nuestra comunidad.
